Hello again! My name is Rodney Reynolds and welcome to another video review. Today I'm looking at the Altec Lansing MX5020 Speaker System.
What's included in this package is a User’s Manual, a clothe for taking fingerprints or smudges off of the speakers, a 3.5 millimeter stereo audio cable, a power adapter and the speakers. This is a basic 2 channel speaker system meaning its basic stereo and there is no subwoofer or that type of thing, the sound pressure level is 95 db, the total continuous power is 12 watts, each speaker is 6 watts per channel at 8 ohms and the frequency response is from 20 to 20000 hertz. Now each speaker has 2 drivers, a 1 inch tweeter and a 3 inch mid-based driver. And each one of these speakers has a dimension of 5.2X2.5X10.2 inches. At the bottom front of the right speaker, there's a gate which opens and swings right down underneath the speaker. The release button for it is right here. This is a clear button and it also indicates power. So press in on here, it will swing right down underneath to reveal a volume bass and treble knob and the headphone jack. Also on the right speaker are the connections, input, auxiliary, left and power. Now have a listen to the speakers. I have the bass and treble maxed and I will increase the volume from minimum to maximum.
These speakers do offer some decent sound. Now they're only 2 channel. There's no subwoofer, there's certainly not 5.1 channel and they're not going to rock the house down. But they do have decent sound quality for their size. Remember this is a budget product for somebody who wants–maybe more volume or quality of sound from a laptop or something along those lines. Overall this product has great value. Again, my name is Rodney Reynolds, this has been another video review. Be sure to check back very soon. I will have a brand new one for you then.
