Hello again! My name is Rodney Reynolds and welcome to another video review. Today I'm looking at the Altec Lansing VS3151 5.1 Speakers.
This is a 6 channel speaker system, you have two front satellite speakers, two rear satellite speakers, a center channel speaker and the subwoofer as well as the control pod. Each one this satellite speakers is 5 watts per channel at 8 ohms and the ranges, 150 to 20000 hertz. The center channel is 10 watts at 8 ohms and the range is the same. The subwoofer is 20 watts at 8 ohms and the range is 40 to 150 hertz. Now each one of these satellite speakers including the semi channel speaker can be mounted on the wall and they're all shielded so you can put them near video monitors and this center channel speaker is pivoting. On the control pod, here is the main power button. You have a power LED right here and here is the main volume control. You can also can increase or decrease the surround sound effect. Right here, increase or decrease the center channel as well as increasing or decreasing the subwoofer. You also have a headphone’s jack right here.
Now at the back here, you have two RCA inputs and also a switch, you can see 2/4/6. This is for a 6 channel source on this position, if you switch it 2/4 that means its coming from a 2 or 4 channel audio source. And this will actually produce 6 channel audio from a 2 or 4 channel source. And here are the other connections, this go connected into either a six channel, four channel or two channel audio source. They are all 3.5 millimeter jacks. And two of this right here we have protective caps which you could snap on over this if you're not using them. At the back of the subwoofer is where you make call the connections including where the control panel gets connected. Right here is the main AC power lead, this goes into your outlet. Now right here is where the control pod gets connected into and to the right of that are all the speaker connections, the left front, the right front, the center, the left rear and the right here. Each of these are color coated and labeled and they actually only go in my. So installation is very easy. And these speakers do produce some great sound.
You can use these speakers for just about anything whether you're plugging it into a CD player, DVD player, maybe you want to plug it into your computer system and play games, maybe a gaming console. It doesn’t matter and I really like the future you can plug a 2 or 4 channel audio source and actually get 6 channel audio. Overall this is a great product.
