Hello again! My name is Rodney Reynolds and welcome to another video review. Today I'm looking at the Altec Lansing VS4121 2.1 Speaker System.
What is included in this package is the left speaker, the sub, the right speaker, a couple of cables and the manual. The total continuous power on this system is 31 watts each speaker is 6 watts per channel at 4 ohms and it’s around a 150 to 20000 hertz. The subwoofer is 19 watts at 4 ohms and around 20 to 150 hertz. Also with each of these front speakers, they have a midrange driver in the base right here and two tweeters in each speaker. This system not only looks great it also sounds great. I'm going to show you what it sounds like a little later on in the video review. First of all, this subwoofer is actually housed in solid wood. It’s a front firing, a long through subwoofer that really does kick a punch and also these microdrivers reproduce very accurate highs and also they have that midrange I mentioned, it’s a down firing midrange driver that really fills the room with very accurate sound. Also these speakers of course are very small here, the fronts, they could go almost anywhere. Also they have built in controls with the treble, bass, headphone jack, shielded satellites for use in their video monitors and color coded cables for easy installation.
Now let’s have a look at the controls on the front right speaker. At the very top is the power LED, next to that is the volume, further down is a treble and bass, on/off switch and the headphone jack. And at the back of the subwoofer, at the very left is where you connect the left speaker. Next to that is where you connect the right speaker and next to that is the input. Now the input is where you connect things like your gaming console, MP3, CD players, TVs, DVD players, PCs and laptops into. And to the right is the power cable. Now to give you some idea how loud the system is, just have a listen.
At half volume you can hear it’s very loud. As you can hear some really crisp, clean, loud sound and some excellent performance when it comes to gaming. This speaker system really does offer some excellent sound despite its size. This is a 2.1 channel system, meaning two satellites and one subwoofer. Something that I would have liked to have seen on this system is a remote control. Overall this is a great product. Again, my name is Rodney Reynolds and this has been another video review. Be sure to check very soon. I will have a brand new one for you then.
