Hello again! My name is Rodney Reynolds and welcome to another video review. Today I’m looking at the Altec Lansing XA3051 5.1 Speaker System.
What is included in this package is an AC adapter, a wired digital controller, a couple of cables so you can connect this to your DVD player, TV, gaming console, etcetera. A center channel speaker, four satellite speakers and they also have included two wall mounts for two surround sound speakers and finally the subwoofer. These wall mounts attach to the speaker very easily. I’ll show you how it’s done. First of all, you can just go ahead and detach the base on the two speakers then take the wall mount and the line and like so, on the speaker then go ahead and screw this on the wall. They can go ahead and take the speaker back and just insert it in and just adjust it as you wish.
The total continuous power on this system is 56 watts. The satellites are 5 watts each at 4 ohms, the range is a 110 to 22000 hertz. The center channel is 18 watts at four ohms going from 20 to 22000 hertz. The subwoofer is a 18 watts at 4 ohms going from 22 to 82 hertz. Now the size on the drivers and each of this well, the one in the center channel is 3 inches and each one in the satellites is also three inches. The subwoofer has a 6.5 inch long through woofer. Like most of these speaker system setups, everything goes plugged into the back of the subwoofer. Now before I show you how to do that, I want to show you the subwoofer. This sub woofer can either go vertically like so or you can place it horizontally. Making all the appropriate connections here to the subwoofers is extremely easy to do. First of all, connect the AC adapter to the back of the subwoofer and once that’s done, then go ahead and plug that adapter into your AC outlet. Next make all the speaker connections and as you can here, they all are color coded so this is extremely easy to do.
Next attach the digital controller and finally make the appropriate input connections. Now that I have everything connected I want to show you this wired digital controller at the very top is the power bond, you have a bunch of LEDs right here which indicate volume. This is the master volume control. You can switch between and trouble also between stereo and surround sound. You also have a test mode right here to test–to see that all the speakers are working correctly and at the very bottom two headphone jacks. Now have a listen to how it sounds.

Now, as you can hear, the bass response on this is quite impressive.
As you have just heard, the speaker response is really good, really kind, the bass is really, really strong even at full volume. So if you're looking for a system that’s inexpensive and is really going to give you great sound, ready for a small TV or a DVD setup or something like a gaming console would be great as well. Now if you're for big huge, very, very accurate sound. Well, you’re going to have to spend a lot more than something like this. But overall this is a great product.
