Crucial Gizmo 256MB USB flash drive
Hello again, my name is Rodney Reynolds and welcome to another video review. Today I’m looking out the Crucial Gizmo 256MB USB flash drive.
What is included in this package is a strap, a 3 foot USB cable, a user guide and the flash drive. This flash drive currently is available in three different models, the 64-megabyte, 128 megabyte and the 256-megabyte.
Now I have the 256 megabyte version here today, this one 177 times the capacity of a floppy disk. It’s USB 1.1 which is around 12 megabytes of data per second. Its plug and play so you can plug this into any USB port whether be on a Mac of PC and really any operate system and its solid state and that means no moving parts. This is a very small compact product. It looks great with a white silvery top and a gray bottom. The strap is attached into the main part of the flash drive. Now this is very important because some flash drives come with a strapping attach to the cap and of course if this detaches when we going to lose this part you lose your data and you lose your flash drive. So it’s a good thing that they’ve done that.
Now you can see here it’s pretty easy to detach the cap here and then this going to either be plug directly into your computer as USB port or you can use three-fourth USB cable. Plug it like so and then lug this in into your computers USB port. And when the drive is actually connected into the computer as USB port, a little green light will indicate activity. They include a software program called secure D. Now this software program is use for securing the data that’s on the flash drive. At f first go ahead and enter a password and you can also enter password reminder then you can go down here either manually enter what you want for the public zone in megabytes or the private zone in megabytes or you can use a slider right here to very easily assigned what you need or you can click right here and split it evenly.
This flash drive is very convenient to have around whether you transferred music, data, whatever to find them very handy. Also they’re light weight, compact and pretty affordable. Now the only thing that I do not like about this particular model is that it’s only USB 1.1 so that means only speeds off 12 megabytes per second or that’s reasonably fast. Most flash drives release today are USB too which 480 megabytes per second substantially more then 1.1.
Now this drive is USB to complaint, remembers its only USB 1.1 but overall this is a great product. Again my name is Rodney Reynolds and this has been another video review be sure to check that very soon.
