Hello again, my name is Rodney Reynolds and welcome to another video review. Today, I’m looking at the GeIL TCCD PC 3200 400MG DDR memory. The speed of this memory is 400MG DDR or PC 3200 and has a CAS of 1.5. The complete timing on this memory is 1.5 22 and five.
Now, what does DDR and CAS means. DDR stands for Double Data Rate and that means it doubles the bandwidth of the memory by transferring data twice as fast on both the rising and the falling of a clock cycle. CAS stands for a Column Access Select or Column Access Strobe and that essentially means the number of cycles for the memory to get information and then process that information.
Also, keep in mind that the lower CAS is much better than a higher CAS. For example, a CAS of a 1.5 will result in better memory performance than two 2.5 or three so try and keep the CAS as low as possible when overclocking. This memory is also dual channel which means that overall memory bandwith resulting in superior performance but in order to benefit from this technology, you will need to have a dual channel motherboard, non-dual channel motherboards do not have to for the independent 64 bit memory controllers but dual channel board’s do which means they have a 128 bit memory interface. Now, this memory will work in non-dual channel motherboard’s, but the overall performance will be much less at the same megahertz. This 184-pin Non-ECC Unbuffered DDR memory is based on the TCCD 32x8 DDR chips, the working voltage is 2.55 to 2.95 volts. Now, this memory where it stands aside from all other memory on the market is because of its timing. A CAS of 1.5 and a complete memory timing of 1.5 225 at 400MG or PC 3200, but it’s also a cable of running 600MG at a complete memory timing of 2.544 and seven.
It also has a platinum copper heat spreader, and this does help dissipate the heat.
Having a CAS of 1.5 and a default speed of 400MG is really, really fast, some of the fastest memory on the market. But not only that, you can overclock it to 600MG very easily. It’s affordable as well and it’s available in a few different kit sizes, a single stick of 500 and 12 megabytes or two dual channel kit options, choose the Excel 256 megabyte each totaling a 512 megabyte kit and the one gigabyte kit which is comprised of two sticks of 512 megabytes each. Overall, this is a kickass product.
