Tech Review - HIS X800XL IceQ II Turbo 256MB PCI-E Video Card
Hello again. My name is Rodney Reynolds and welcome to another video review. Today, I’m looking at the HIS X800XL IceQ II Turbo 256 megabyte PCI express video card.
Included in this package is an installation CD, software, a user’s guide, a DVI to VGA adapter, an S-video cable, a composite video cable as well as an HDTV adapter. This end goes plug into the video card and these ends right into the HDTV. Also included is an expansion slot filler and the video card.
This PCI Express video card is based on the ATI R430 chip. Now, let’s have a closer look at the product. Right away you’re going to notice it has a very large cooler. This cooler comes with the blower style fan pulls in cooler. It blows it across a very warm aluminum heatsink and ports that warm air out the back of the case.
And let’s have a closer look at the heatsink. It has an aluminum top with the number of fans and the copper bays. The copper bays comes in contact with the memory on this side of the card as wells as the core. The other side, the memory has a heat spreader so both sides are covered.
There is not any need to connect this card into your power supply and a lot of these high end cards there’s a power connection to be made normally at the top right here. This one doesn’t have or doesn’t require it.
At the back of the card is the regular VGA connector, the S Video, video out connector and the DVI connector. It comes with 256 megabytes of GDDR3 memory. The default memory speed is 984 megahertz and the default core speed is 398 megahertz and they include a program called iTurbo. This program with one click will essentially give you an overclock which is safe of around 433 megahertz for core and one gigahertz for the memory.
The card comes with 16 pixel pipelines, six vertex engines. It has a fill rate of 6.9 gigatexels per second and the memory bandwidth of 32 gigabytes per second. This card has a number of technologies supporting the latest applications and games.
Technologies like Saltshaker HD, SmoothVision HD, 3DC, HyperZ, VideoShader HD, and supporting the latest direct text and OpenGL. The card also supports dual display and that means you’ll have a lot of room to work. This product performs exceptionally well. It looks great. It has a fantastic, quiet cooler and is affordable. Overall, this is a kick ass product.
