Tech Review - Jazz J9938 5.1 Home Theater Speaker System
Hello again, my name is Rodney Reynolds and welcome to another video review. Today I'm looking at the Jazz J9938 5.1 Home Theater Speaker System. What's included in this package is a subwoofer, a Dolby digital decoder, five satellites speaker, a remote control, two triple “A “battery. You also get two mounting kits for the surround sound speakers as well as two extension cables.
You can see there are a lot of cables that does come with this as well. Get optic cable, you also get a mini jack converter for that optic cable if you want to use it and there are a couple of cables which connect the subwoofer to the Dolby digital decoder and you also get this minijack cable as well as the operating manual.
This system can do 5.1 channel Adobe digital, DTS or digital theater sound, Dolby surround pro logic 2 and AAC or advance audio coding. The overall power in this system is 45 watts. The subwoofer is 20 watts and each satellite is five watts. The frequency response is from 60 hertz to 20000 hertz, the impedance is four OHMS and the speakers are magnetically shielded. Dimensions on the subwoofer are 170 x 300 x 285 millimeter, each satellite is 88 x 96 x 95 and the decoder box is 74 x 183 x 240.
Let me show you now how it’s connected. First of all there's a power cable right here which comes out of the subwoofer. This goes plug into your AC outlet. Next make the audio connection from the subwoofer into the Dolby digital decoder and there's also a power cable right here going from the subwoofer into the Dolby digital decoder.
Next go ahead and plug all these speakers in. You can see that they are color coded so you're not going to make any mistakes when you connect all these in. The next step is to make the appropriate connections right here either have optic in right here there's two and also a line in.
Once everything is connected you then need to power it on. There are two power buttons. The main one is on the sub right there. You also have one on the Dolby Digital Decoder. Let me just go over some of the buttons here on the front of this Dolby Digital Decoder. Right here is a power button, a mute LED, a mute button, the power off, the power down. You also in the bottom have the input button that’s responsible for selecting between the digital 1, digital 2 inline. At the back you also have a mode button and that switches between stereo Pro Logic 2 as well as 5.1 channel audio.
Now I have just a simple line connected so two speakers and the sub using an MP3 player and I'm just going to show you how that works. First of all power it on. Now the first time you power this on you're going to need to select which line is coming in through either the optic 1, the optic 2 or the simple line connection. I have the line connection and just have a listen to the sound and remember this is just two speakers and the sub button. So maximum response from this and also remember that you can hook this up to your PC, gaming console, DVD player. It does have a lot of connections and you can't connect a lot of things into this product.
This speaker system is like a lot of others in its class. It’s inexpensive and then also offers you good sound, a definite bang for the buck. If you're looking for a system Dolby has really big sound and really high quality then you're going to have to pay a lot more than something like this. But overall this is a great product.
