Tech Review - Kingwin SS-350S-BK SATA External Enclosure
Hello again, my name is Rodney Reynolds and welcome to another video review. Today I’m looking at the Kingwin Serial ATA Hard drive External Enclosure. Included in this package is the power adaptor, a 3.5 foot serial ATA cable, 2 screws and the serial ATA hard drive enclosure. This external enclosure fits a standard 3.5 inch serial ATA hard drive up to 400 gigabytes in size. It comes in 2 different colors, black and silver. It’s all aluminum and also stackable. It is welcomed with a fan failure alarm system with a red LAD indicator, that indicator is here. And what will happen if the small fan which is on the bottom of this and that helps as if to keep the hard drive cool fails, then it will light up.
Normally what will happen when you turn on your enclosure on is the red light will come off for just a second and turn off. If the red light’s off you don’t have to worry but if it’s on then the fan has failed. Now let’s have closer look at the enclosure, at the top is the Kingwin logo, this will light up in green, also a green hard drive activity LAD and a red fan LAD. At the back is the on, off switch, the serial ATA connection and the power connection. And on the bottom are 4 rubber feet and a fan.
Installing our hard drive is quite easy. First take off the top plate by removing the 4 thumbscrews. Next carefully place the hard drive inside of the enclosure making the power and serial ATA connections then secure it to the enclosure with 2 screws. Now fasten the top plate back on and finally make the serial ATA and power connection. This serial ATA hard drive external enclosures are simply fantastic for anyone who wants to have a lot of data and transfer that data very fast.
The best way currently to install this on a desktop PC is to buy a very inexpensive serial ATA PCI card and remember, this serial ATA hard drive are up to 3 times faster than USB tube. Over all this is a kick *** product.
