Tech Review - Logitech Cordless iTouch Cordless Freedom Navigator
Hello again, my name is Rodney Reynolds and this is yet another video review. Today, I’ll be looking at Logitech’s Cordless Keyboard and mouse combination.
This is the Logitech Cordless iTouch keyboard and this is the cordless mouse manned wheel. Let’s have a closer look at the keyboard. The keyboard of course is completely cordless, can operate up to a range of around two meters and there’s actually no line of site or aiming actually required with this so you don’t have to be really fuzzy as to where this is on your desk or halfway across the room. So, that’s a great feature.
Also there is four over 4000 digital security ID code in this. So if you have several computers in the same room or the same building, it will not confuse one keyboard with the other one.
It also has a very convenient keys right here. For instance, this one right here is for a sleep function; you have the volume controls right here as well as a CD function or music play and pause, you could stop and of course you can rewind and fast forward here as well.
Of course the rest of the keys on the keyboard are generally the same as any other kind of keyboard. And on the right hand side here the top right you have buttons here for your email, for searching and that kind of thing. And you can also use Logitech software to program any of these buttons to whatever you wish.
Also this keyboard comes with the detachable palm rest. This is great because if you’re on a keyboard for any extended period of time, this will help your wrist. Let me just show you how this detachable palm rest is connected to the keyboard.
Very simply it’s connected, it snaps in on both sides and once that’s snapped in, just reverse the keyboard and your palm rest is installed. Well, the first things you want to do both with the keyboard and the mouse is of course to install batteries. How to do that in the keyboard, you just remove this little cover, install two double A batteries and this is the cordless mouse manned wheel. Have a closer look here at this mouse you have four buttons, one here, here, here, the wheel as well as here and of course you have the scroll wheel right here.
This is a very comfortable, very well made mouse of course it is the standard ball mouse so you would have to clean this one. And of course the batteries on this one go right here. Just pop off this compartment and you fit two triple A batteries in this mouse.
This is the receiver. This is what’s responsible for communicating with the mouse as well as the cordless keyboard and of course this would be connected directly into the USB ports on your motherboard.
Once that is connected, install all the Logitech software for the keyboard and the mouse and if it doesn’t get detected immediately, then there’s a connect button right here as well as a little button on the keyboard right here which you can press.
Something else you should know that with this cordless USB keyboard or any USB keyboard of course once your operating system is installed and the drivers are set up, it does work perfectly fine.
However, there are some situations where you probably need to fall back on your regular old PS2 keyboard situations such as changing some settings in the BIOS, installing a new operating system or doing some changes in DOS.
Logitech has put together a great combination of the cordless keyboard and the cordless mouse. The cordless keyboard is very comfortable. It even has the detachable palm rest. So again, that’s great there and of course the keyboard does come with the buttons for the sleeve, for the volume controls and of course some other buttons to activate other programs at one touch. So, it’s very convenient. Also the mouse, it is a ball mouse so it’s an older style mouse. However, it works well in combination with this keyboard in being very affordable.
At around $100 Canadian, this is really a bargain. I gave this combination of the keyboard and the mouse at 8.5 out 10.
