Hello again, my name is Rodney Reynolds and welcome to another video review. Today, I’ll be looking at the M-BOX MP3 CD Player. What’s included in this package is the manual. You also get a carrier bag, a wired remote control, headset and of course the unit itself. Let me now look at the wired remote control. On the front of this remote control, you can see, we have a few buttons here. Right here is a stop, go back, skip back one song, skip ahead one song. You also have the play and the pause button right here. At the top, we have a volume control, a hold button right here. On the back is a little clip to clip this in your belt or in your pocket. And right here at the end of this, we have a place where the headset gets plugged in.
Let me now go over some of the buttons very quickly on this unit. At the front here, the very front we have an open and close this of course it’s where you’ll be inserting your media inside. Right here is a hold button. This hold button is basically the same as it is on the remote control. It temporarily disables the other buttons on this unit. On the side here, we have a place to put the wired remote control as well as the headset. You have a volume control here. You also have a line out, this could go to maybe a place to put it in your car or even into your home audio entertainment system. As well right here, we have the AC adaptor which is included in this package. Now, on the front of this, we have a few buttons here, a programmed button, an ESP button—an EQ button and as well on top here we have a stop, we have a skip backwards, we have a play or pause, we also have the forward or skip forward button as well as a mode button right here. And on the back of the unit, we have a place to put regular batteries. Batteries that they take are double-A batteries. Now, this unit does not charge batteries so if you put rechargeable batteries on this, it will not work.
Again, on the front of the unit here, you have a few buttons. I’ll go over this in detail here. You have a program button here. And if I start the unit up here first of all, you can see it’s powering up and it’s loading the disc. Now, of course you could have an audio, regular audio CD in here or you can have an MP3 CD in here. And once it’s loaded, you can see that track one is playing and this is an Audio-CD. Now, if I stop it, it will show you the total number of tracks as well as the total time of this Audio-CD. Now, if you want to program a few songs to play, let’s say you have you know a few songs on the CD and you want to play one for an eight let’s say, you can go ahead here and press program. You could go ahead here and select the song that you want. For instance, let’s say I want sone two, I can go ahead and program that song two. You can go ahead and skip ahead to maybe song four. Program that one as well as eight and program that one. You can see I have three songs programmed and after they are programmed, you can go ahead and play those songs. It will play of course two, four, and eight as you programmed them. And this unit does come with an ESP feature. This is Electronic Shock Protection. You could see it there when you press upon it. It does come up and display indicating that you have it turned on, good feature to have on especially if you are jogging or doing any kind of activity where you’re shaking the unit. Basically, what it does is transfer the audio from the CD to a buffer inside the unit such that it does not ski. However, if you’re continuously shaking this unit, it will skip. So, that ESP feature is certainly a good feature to have on this unit.
Also on this unit, they have an EQ button. Now, the EQ button is different depending whether you have an Audio-CD or an MP3 CD loaded. For instance, if I press CD Equalizer right here, you will notice that you’ll only see a feature of base. Now, if you have MP3 songs in here, you can go ahead and get jazz, rock, classic, and base from this EQ button. As well on this unit, you have a mode button. This mode button does come up and give you a few options here, the first one being a normal so that’s basically the basic setting. You can go ahead and press it again, it gives you a repeat one. They will basically repeat the song that you have on the unit right now playing over and over and over again. You can also repeat all so you can repeat the whole Audio-CD or MP3 CD as well as shuffle. So, you can go ahead and shuffle the CD over and over at different tracks basically at random. Overall, this is a good product. Certainly it is affordable and of course the media involved here is very inexpensive as well. CD-Rs and CD-RWs are certainly very cheap these days.
Now, if you are burning MP3s onto a CD-R or CD-RW, you really want to follow the instructions as per their manual. First, I did have some problems at first burning MP3s onto this unit getting the unit to recognize the MP3s. However again, follow their specifications within their manual and you should not have any problems in getting the player to recognize the MP3s on the CD-R or the CD-RW media. So again, overall, this certainly is a good valued product.
