Tech Review - Muffled Computing Fan Mufflers
Hello again. My name is Rodney Reynolds and welcome to another video review. Today I'm looking at muffled computing fan mufflers and foam acoustic mats. Each of these products comes with an installation guide. This one right here is an acoustic foam mat. This could stop inside the case and of course you can cut it to whatever size you want and they do come in different thicknesses. This right here are the fan mufflers. Each of this comes with Velcro and also they come with an alcohol swab. The alcohol swab is used to clean off surface on the case to allow this Velcro to stick very securely
This acoustic foam really can go anywhere inside your case because wherever it is it’s going to help reduce the noise. For example, you can put it inside the front, the back, the top, the sides, etcetera. Currently these fan mufflers come in three different colors, the black, the silver and the white and all of them are used for different purposes. This one here is the auxiliary fan muffler you use at the back of the case generally for two fans. This one here is a power supply fan muffler and this one here is for the front fan which is on the front of your case. Now just to show you how this works.
This side right here gets mounted to the back of the case via two strips of Velcro and the air flow goes through here and exits out the back and of course the acoustic foam throughout the inside here to reduce the noise. This one here is the power supply fan muffler really no different in design except that the power supply cable would be fed through this and you stick this side to the power supply at the back of your case and the air flow again would exit out the back and this one is for the front. You just mount it and again it works the very same way.
Now let me show you how you install the power supply fan muffler and the auxiliary fan muffler at the back of the case. Right here is the power supply and this is the power supply fan muffler. The first thing you want to do is stick the Velcro on the top and the bottom horizontally on the back of the case. Then go ahead and take the power supply cable. Feed it all the way through the product and then go ahead and connect it to the power supply and then mount the product to the back of the case.
Installing the auxiliary fan muffler is extremely easy to do as well. Go ahead and install one strip horizontally at the top and one at the bottom then go ahead and mount the product to the back of the case.
Now you can see in this particular situation the case is a little small to use this product and normally you want to have a full size tower case and two fans here at the back. However, it doesn’t really matter if you have one fan and if your case is a little small you can still go ahead and make this product fit.
Now let me install a Vantec tornado fan here in the back. That’s a very, very loud fan just to illustrate a before and after. As you can hear the Vantec tornado fan is extremely loud but let me go ahead now and place the fan muffler over. And as you can hear it is an enormous difference, before and after.
As you just have heard these fan mufflers certainly do work in accordance with using the foam acoustic mats you're certainly going to quiet down your whole PC. Overall these products are great.
