Tech Review - Nideo Digital Camera Hello again. My name is Rodney Reynolds and this is yet another video review. Today, I will be looking at the Nideo Digital Camera. What’s included with this product is a AC adapter, a neck strap, a USB cable. We have software and drivers as well as the manual and also the camera itself. One of the first things you’ll notice where looking at this camera is the fact that it is extremely tiny making a perfect spy camera or a camera certainly that can fit anywhere your pocket. Anywhere at all certainly in a purse so it’s very tiny, very compact for that. Also, it comes with 16 megabytes of memory. You can take between 26 to 104 pictures depending on the resolution size. The resolution, the pixel resolution of this camera is 640x480 that’s high resolution. Low resolution is at 352x288. Also this camera comes with a lithium ION battery. That is a rechargeable battery, Also there is an automatic anti-flicker exposure and gain control on this camera. Some of the features on the camera are this is the lens right here. This is view finder right here, of course you’ll be looking through that to take the pictures. Right here, you have a place to install the strap. Also right here is where you can plug in the USB connector and right here is where you’ll be plugging in the AC adapter. On the back here at the top right we have a shutter button. Also down here, we have a mode button. The camera does have a few different features. I’ll just go through those now. You could go into the mode here and you can go into end select different modes depending on what you want to do. First one here is called the Self Timer so it does have a self timer. It also has a continuous mode. This is a very interesting mode, basically what this does is it complete, when you press down the switcher at the top, and it takes pictures continuously. First of all you have to be in the mode and then press the shutter. You can see here its taking pictures continuously and basically an essence what is doing is capturing video. The next mode here is clearing the memory, you can go ahead and clear the memory that you have on the camera. By the way this camera does come with 64 megabytes of memory installed. So you can go ahead, double click right here the top, right-hand corner and of course you clear all the pictures that you have stored. You have an option here as well going from high resolution to low resolution. I’ll switch here and go to high resolution, then go back and switch back to low resolution. At low resolution, you can get 99 photographs. At high resolution, you can get 26 photographs. Once you plugged the camera into your USB port, of course your system will recognize it. Go ahead and install drivers that are included on the CD or preferably maybe go to their website and download the latest drivers directly from there. Once you do install it and get the drivers installed, you will notice that this is actually and it does come up as an imaging device as you can see right here. Well the great thing about being an imaging device of course is that you could use almost any kind of good graphics program. In my case here, I’m using Adobe Photoshop. Of course you go to the import option, you can see right there, there is the camera and you could go ahead then at import all the pictures that you took. Of course all you would have to do then is go ahead and click on the camera itself and that will bring up this window. You have different options, mode options like Stills and Video. You can also get controls. You can do a capture or close the screen all together. Of course you have button right here. We can go ahead and just to grab the pictures right directly from the camera and of course you can go ahead and clear the camera. Also in this area, you have the option of downloading the images which you took. You can see here, this is some of the images which I took around the office and all you would need to do to download that would be to double-click. Once that’s done, it will take a second or a little less than a second to download, and at that point you can go ahead and modify the image or just go ahead and save it to you hard drive. You consider the fact again that this very small camera. It is very, very inexpensive as well the resolution which this picture was taken at was 640x480.considering all those facts, the picture quality are not that bad at all. Also you can use this camera as a webcam. Go ahead install the camera. Install your favorite webcam software. Once that’s done, you have an instant web camera. You could see here right now the camera is looking at me and if I go back to my screen, you will notice that this is me on a webcam. Overall, a very good camera, you’ve got affordability and around $90.00 US at this time is very, very inexpensive. Also when you consider the fact that is very portable. Certainly, you can almost put this anywhere. You can use this as well for web camera and the installation of this in your computer is very easy and very simple to do. So considering all those facts and the fact as well, then it does take good pictures, not great, not super, and certainly not excellent but good pictures. Let’s face it, when you buy camera that this price, you should not expect to get optimum amazing image quality. It is impossible as well if you know, cameras are very expensive, at least the once that take really excellent pictures and photographs. So keep that in mind, when you’re purchasing a camera like this or another camera. Overall I give this a 7 and a half out of 10.
