Tech Review - NorthQ 3590 Siberian Tiger II CPU Water Cooler
Hello again, I’m Rodney Reynolds and welcome to another video review. Today I'm looking at the NorhtQ 3590 Siberian Tiger II CPU Water Cooler.
What’s included is the user’s manual, all the materials needed for installation, a fan speed controller, a regular stat for three fans which gets mounted in the PCI expansion slot at the back of the case, two blue LED 120 millimeter fans and the main unit.
The Intel brackets which are the two on the left don’t require a back plate so the motherboard doesn’t need to be removed for installation. However, for installation on AMD motherboards a back plate is required. The included AMD brackets which are these two should fit the original mother board’s back plate. But they include two back plates just to be safe.
This liquid cooling system is completely closed and sealed so there's no maintenance required this means no refills and no risk of leaks. Since it’s completely configured, there is no need for any extra installation like many other water cooling kits. By combining the water block, pump, reservoir, and radiator together it reduces the traditional four component loop just one component. This substantially decreases the space required for installation and it really simplifies the installation process over traditional water cooling kits.
This modular is produced by ASTEC and it’s known as a low cost liquid cooler. The pump, water reservoir, cold plate as well as electronic are housed in one compact unit. It uses a low pressure drop system and the benefit is that its ultra flexible with only one pump, it’s capable of removing 750 watts.
The CPU block is all copper and has a mirror finish so will make excellent contact between it and a CPU. Note that the block also comes with a thin coat of thermo compound as well as a power connection and an RPM monitor.
Thirty-five centimeter flexible steel tubes with plastic covering are used. They are strong but flexible and will not leak. The small pump which is inside this unit is very quiet and uses a proprietary Ac Dc hyper technology with high precision, ceramic bearings. By combining the best of both worlds, ASTEC has developed the hyper technology, low power high performance highly reliable pump.
The delta block 240x120 millimeter copper radiator has lots of fins and it also comes with two quiet blue LED 120 millimeter fans and each one of these fans comes with the switch to control the blue LED’s so you can turn them on or off.
Installation is fairly easy. First, attach the water block and then mount the radiator. Note that all the materials for installation are included so it can be mounted on any current AMD or Intel based motherboard but it will only fit in cases that have provision for a 240x120 millimeter radiator.
Finally, have a listen to the pump and the two 120 millimeter fans as I increase the fan speed from the lowest to the highest position.
NorthQ also has another product that just comes with a single radiator and that one is the 3580. This is the 3590 and it comes with the delta black 240x120 millimeter radiator and that’s a fantastic wrap.
Overall, this product is extremely quiet and that’s something that I like to see from a water cooling system and that is really what this is, a all in one water cooling set up that is extremely easy to install. But just remember, that you need to get a case that has provision for at 240x120 millimeter radiator otherwise it won't fit without mounting the case. Overall this is a kick ass product. Until the next time, take care.
