Hello, again my name is Rodney Reynolds and welcome to another video review. Today I'm looking OCZ PC-3200 Dual Tel Platinum Memory. The speed on this memory is 400 megahertz DDR or PC-3200 and has a CAS of 2. Now what does DDR and CAS mean? DDR stands for Double Data Rate and that means that it doubles development of the memory by transferring data twice as fast on both the rising and the falling of a clock cycle. CAS stands for Column Access Select and that essentially means the number of cycles for the memory to get information and then process that information. Also keep in mind that a lower CAS is much better than a higher CAS for example a CAS of two will result in better memory performance 2.5 or 3. So try and keep the CAS as low as possible when over clocking.
Also this memory is dual channel memory which means much better overall Memory Ban resulting in superior performance. But in order to benefit for this technology you will need to have a dual channel motherboard. None, the dual channel motherboards do not have two fully depended with 64 bit on memory controllers but dual channel boards do, which means they have a 128 bit memory interface.
While this memory will work in none dual channel motherboards the overall performance will be less at the same megahertz as my results or show. Also you can see that this memory has a heat spacer and that helps dissipate the heat because at the very high speeds that this memory is at it does get very hot. This memory is based upon the OCZ at brand EL or enhanced latency DDR IC memory chips their 4.5 nanoseconds the timing on this memory is 22351 at 400 megahertz DDR.
The highest over clock I could get from this memory was 238 megahertz or 476 megahertz DDR. That’s very good from its default of 200 megahertz or 400 megahertz DDR. Now I did a couple different results here and SiSoftware Sandra, one in none dual channel configuration and one in dual channel configuration. Just to show you the differences in speed between the two, the dual channel configuration results was 5331 and up on dual channel configuration result was 3486. And the PC mark 2002 memory result was 9382, this memory is highly over clock able, it is very fast, stable and inexpensive. Overall this is a kick ass product.
Again my name is Rodney Reynolds and this has been another video review. Be sure to check back very soon it will have a brand new on for you then.
