Tech Review - Pal-Mate Mini PDA Featuring Wireless
Hello again. My name is Rodney Reynolds and this is yet another video review. Today I will be looking at the Pal-Mate PDA. This is the Pal-Mate. It comes in this packaging, two extra stylus touch pen, the neck strap, the manual as well as the Pal Mate product itself.
Let me now go over a few of the features on this product. Let me go just over the things that are actually physically on this product. Of course you have an area right here the neck strap would be connected. On the front here you have a mode button, phone button for the phonebook. You have an up and down scroll here. Also right here you have the time of course, it’s for the time and the date and also right here is the link. This is of course linking to the PC or linking to another one of this Pal-Mate.
On the back here you have the beam LED right here. The eye is right here, you have a reset button right here of course the battery goes housed in here and this is actually a stylus pen which goes housed right here.
Also right here we have the touch screen area. This is where you would actually, physically touch the screen to activate or change different settings within this unit. Also right here at the bottom you have of course a bunch of characters, numbers and symbols.
To power this unit on is very simple. Literary click any of these buttons here on the front. Once you do it will give you scrolling picture here, we will show you what’s included. Of course in this is a telephone book, a time and N alarm, a schedule reminder, a calculator, a fortune teller, a slot game, and actually a car racing game as well.
Changing or adding information on this is pretty simple. I mean the time feature here I can for instance just click right here and go in and change the time at the top and you could see here I can change the dates the time and so on and so forth. I can change the modes right here. I can for instance go in at a new entry here into the phonebook and just enter the information by pressing on the keypad as an example.
So as you can see here is very simple to do this between the combination of the large font and the keyboard options here. You can add text, symbols and letters very easily and this is the Pal-Mates website at www.mini-pda.com. On this website you’ll find some very useful information about different features of the product and also a software download area, software you will need to install to get the product to communicate with your computer.
This is actually the software which you will need to communicate with your Pal Mate. There are two forms of communication, There’s a monitor flash what that means is that at the very top right hand corner of your screen here when you actually link-up. You need to have the product hanging so that its kind of in the center of that square box they are at the top right hand side and once that’s done, once you have entered all the information that you need to have entered click on the link, send to the unit and once you do that it would just send the information to the unit.
Now the other way is to do it via the number lock and CAP lock flash, the series of flashes that actually would be on your keyboard so basically you place this product over the number lock and a CAPS lock on your keyboard and once the information is entered here again, very simply click on the send to unit once that’s done it will send a data to the unit.
Overall a good device, however this is not a PDA in any stretch the imagination, it is really meant to organize a few names, emails, and dates and there’s also a few other games in this as well but aside from organizing just some dates and names and contact information this device is certainly very, very limited. It has one, big advantage of course it is very affordable and again if you do want a device to just store contact information it’s great.
