Tech Review - SOYO DYLM24D6 24 Inch LCD Monitor
Hello again, my name is Rodney Reynolds and welcome to another video review. Today we’ll be looking at the SOYO 24 Inch LCD. What's included is the user’s manual, analog VGA cable, DVI cable, power chord, audio cable, the base and the display. Let me first cover the screen specifications. This LCD is 24 inches wide, it has an optimum resolution of 1920x1200, a contrast ratio of 1000 to one, the horizontal viewing angle is 170 degrees and the vertical viewing angle is 160 degrees. The response time is six milliseconds, the brightness is 500 nits, it has 16.7 million display colors and a dock pitch is .27 millimeters. Before I have a closer look at this display, let me cover some of the main features you should be looking for when selecting a monitor. There are two main computer displays off, the older and very affordable CRT or the newer LCD. CRT or cathode ray tube is a data technology but it does offer excellent color especially in dark gaming environments.
The disadvantage to CRT’s is they cause iStraine and are very heavy. So rule them out and go with their liquid crystal display. There are two different formats to choose from full screen or wide screen. Considering that wide screen LCD’s are now affordable I would recommend going badly around. When selecting a wide screen LCD, remember to get one that has a response of eight milliseconds or better to avoid ghosting. Ghosting happens when pixels creating the image take too long to switch on and off creating a blurred or distorted effect. Thankfully ghosting is really not a problem with the latest LCD’s also be sure that the LCD has a DVI and or HDMI connection. I would really recommend the display that has both because we’ll give you their freedom of not only using the display for your computer system but other HDMI products.
One other important consideration is resolution. Most new LCD’s are at least 16 to 80 bit Pin 50 Pixels, but the more expensive newer models are 1920 by 1200 Pixels. In 1920 by 1200 resolution will result in more desktops space and allows super high resolution gaming. Now, let’s have a closer look at this monitor. This monitor can be tilted up and down but it doesn’t swing a left or right nor can the height be adjusted. At the front to left and the right are two watt speakers.
In the sensor are two power LED’s and the power button. On the right side are the functions key’s menu, direction, volume, mode and auto. The menu key will bring up the unscreened menu which enables the user to change the contrast, brightness, screen position, different on screen display options, face adjust, clock adjust, the volume control, input select, color adjust, language, reset, full screen or wide screen mode and exit. At the back of the display are a lots of ventilation holes on both sides and on the top. There is also a sticker which has the model number, serial number, and other information. This monitor can also be mounted on the wall using a VESA display mount. Here’s the power cable connection, DVI connection, VGA connection and audio connection. This is a—24 inch LCD that offers great color quality, brightness, contrast and sharp text in an affordable package.
Now something that this display will not give you is lots of connections. Like HDMI and that’s a little disappointing. But if you consider all the features and the price this display has major bank for the buck, overall it’s a great product.
