Tech Review - Samsung 950p 19 Inch Monitor
Hello again my name is Rodney Reynolds and this yet another video review for 3dGameMan.com, remember folks this videos are completely un-edited and these are only my opinions. Today I will be looking at the Samsung950p monitor, some of the good points, the bad points about this monitor. Overall, this is an excellent monitor at a great price.
So let’s actually spring over right now and have a look at the front side and back of this monitor. This of course is the Samsung 950p Monitor this is a 19 inch monitor, this monitor is being powered by a Voodo 32000 video card. And I have the resolution now at 1600 x1200 at 75 hertz. If you look at the front of the monitor here, you have this to be – pop menu. For your on-screen displays, of course you have the standard options on this monitor as you do with most.
Something I like about this monitor as well, the fact that it can do 1600 x 1200 at 75 hertz is a great feature. And something is certainly about a lot of people who are looking for 19 inch monitors at a great price. Will want to have, I would like it to be a little higher maybe at 85 hertz. But that is okay at 1600 x 1200 at 75 is quite fine, something I like about the top of this monitor as well is the flat surface, it gives you a nice place to put anything.
Whether it would be your toys or whatever, it gives you a great service to launch other things on top off. And if you look at the side, it has kind of a cool looking top, kind of a tapered side. And as well the foot prints of this very acceptable, I have a 17 inch Samsung 700p here before and actually the foot print – lengthwise to the back was the same. Exactly, so it doesn’t take up anymore space on your desktop necessarily is that is a plus. And if you look at the back of the monitor, you’ll see all the connections – it has as well.
So as monitors go, this is a fantastic monitor and all the text is very crisp and clean. Both in games, game graphics as well as word documents or your just plain text is fantastic in this monitor. So a great monitor from Samsung, the 950p, this monitor is around $470 Canadian. So that is an acceptable price for something that is a 19 inch and up to 1600x1200 and at 75 hertz. And even at that resolution, the text quality and graphics quality are excellent.
So I am going to swing back now and just sum this review up. And of course this monitor comes with its own software, drivers, which you will need to install even if you have Windows Millennium as this monitor is so new. On PCWorld.com reviewed this monitor a few a months back and gave a top mark. At the matter of fact they gave it number one above all of the monitors they reviewed.
So this monitor is as PCWorld.com states a very good monitor and it has excellent quality for the price. Again the price is extremely reasonable, so certainly a recommendation for this monitor, I would certainly go pick one up if you are in the market for a 19 inch monitor. I see no focus problems, no docks were ever placed or missing, so overall I like actually, and I like Samsung products. I have some monitors from them at the past and they just worth, they last for years and they are great. Their focus wise, you know resolution wise and the performance wise they are excellent. Samsung’s monitor a 9/1o, I would like to see a little higher on the 1600x1200 at 75 hertz but they do have options and alternatives and monitors that do go higher of course it works like so.
So to sum this review up again, I give a 9/10, again my name is Rodney Reynolds and this has been another video review. Next week I will be looking at the Duron700 and a little bit more detail.
