Tech Review - Spire cooling products
Hello, again my name is Rodney Reynolds and welcome to another video review. Today, I'm looking at two Spire cooling products.
One is to ware a socket 460 and the one is for a hard drive. Both of these products will have cool down different components. Inside your system, the one at the right is for your hard drive, and the one to the left is for your CPU. The socket 462 or a socket A. Now let's go over the one on the right first. That’s a hard drive cooler.
Now what are included with this is four screws and the product itself. Now, this actually goes on the rare or underneath the hard drive. And they also have included some instructions which are actually on the package. Now, just to show you how this works. Its very, very simple, take your hard drive and then go ahead and just screw this on the back of that drive and then of course just go ahead and snip this into your drive bay.
This product will work on any 3.25 inch hard drive there are two fans in here both of this fans are 50x50x10 millimeters, they are ball bearing fans which spin at 4800 RPM, the noise level on this is around 29 decibels and it pushes around 18C of fan that’s from two of them. And as you can see, here at the end there is a four pin connector this goes directly connected into your power supply.
At the left is their socket 462 cooler, this one here is called the Microflow II and the model on the ware this one is BFA7B2 comes with a manual as well as some thermal compound. The thermal compound though is actually already on the base of the cooler. Now at the top here we’ve got a grill on a fan which is 70x70x15 millimeters in size it’s a ball bearing fan, it spins at 4200 RPM, it pushes around 30 CFM and the noise level on this one is 31 decibels and it has a nice three pin connector here which can go directly connected into your motherboard. Now, this cooler has an aluminum top and a copper core.
The bays on this are extremely smooth which is great because it is going to allow great contact between this and you’re CPU. One thing of concern here, though, about this cooler is the click design, its ported design, it’s easy to get on but it’s not easy to remove. Next, lest see how loud this fan is. And finally let's have a listen to this product and see how loud it is.
Both of this products offer a fantastic value, the cooler for the CPU is great. At idle, I'm getting around 34 degrees Celsius and maximum I'm getting around 39. Now, that’s using at AMD 2400+, now the hard drive cooler well that’s going to really vary in temperatures you might get a three or four degree Celsius difference or you might get as much as a 10 degrees Celsius difference. It depends on where the hard drives are? What they're on top of and so and so fort but overall this products offer great value.
