Tech Review - Super Talent UltraDrive ME 128GB SSD
Hello again, I’m Rodney Reynolds and welcome to another video review. Today, I’m looking at the Super Talent UltraDrive ME Serial ATA 25128 Gigabyte Solid State Drive.
The super Talent UltraDrive line of Serial ATA Solid State Drives are currently available in two different models, the LE and ME. The LE series is intended for enterprise traverse and it comes in capacity ranging from 32 gigabytes to 128 gigabytes. The ME series is geared for applications that require optimum performance and comes in capacities ranging from 32 gigabytes to 256 gigabytes.
I’ll be reviewing the ME 128-gigabyte model. Solid State Drives have been since 1978, developed by company called Stewart’s Tech. Solid State Drives are very similar to USB drives or any type of flash or compact memory like for example the memory that goes into your camera.
Solid State Drives have several advantages over standard hard drives because they have faster access times, lower temperature, are much more reliable because they have no moving parts, are tougher and silent.
They also are lightweight having much smaller Footprint and consume less power. Solid State Drives still have their disadvantages over standard hard drives. They are very expensive, capacities are low, can have slower write times and more CPU usage.
As you can see this 2.5-inch Serial ATA Solid State Drive is much smaller than a standard Serial ATA 3.5-inch hard drive. Here’s the Serial ATA power connection and the serial ATA data connection.
On the sides and the bottom are the screw holes for mounting the drive and at the bottom is the model number and serial number. As you can see from the benchmarks the performance on this Solid State Drive is amazing. If you have the money and you’re not so concerned about capacities I would definitely go for a Solid State Drive. Overall, this is a 100% kick-ass product.
Until the next time, take care.
