Hello again, I'm Rodney Reynolds and welcome to another video review. Today, I’m looking at the Thermaltake Spedo Advance Package Case. What’s included is a user’s manual, screws, motherboard stand-ups, a 120mm fan, two extension cables, one is a 24-pin motherboard extension cable and the other one is an eight-pin to eight pin or eight-pin to four-pin motherboard extension cable. It also comes with a 3.50-inch drive bay cover. There are four hard drive brackets and a 3.50-inch to 5.25-inch drive bay adapter.
This full tower ATX case is available in a black color with silver accents, it’s mostly steel with a few plastic parts such as the front bezel and the top panel. At the top are lots of ventilation holes to allow the large 230mm fan to exhaust warm air put of the case. Conveniently located at the top are two USB ports, an external serial ATA port as well as a microphone and headphone jack. Also note that the top panel can be very easily removed. First, you’ll need to remove the front bezel and then just press here on each side and then pull out and lift off. The front bezel can be very easily removed by pulling at the bottom. There are a total of seven 5.25-inch drive bays, four are located at the top and three at the bottom. There’s a large 140mm red LED fan and it comes with a dust filter which is located in the front bezel.
Additionally, all the drive bay covers have dust filters. The left side panel has a ventilation, a window and a large 230mm intake fan. The 230mm fan that’s on the left side panel has a wireless connection and it makes contact right here. This is simply fantastic because when you remove the side panel, you don’t have to worry about the fan power cable being attached either into the motherboard or into the power supply. The right side panel also has lots of ventilation. At the back of the case are two holes for an external water cooling system tubes to pass through. Here’s the motherboard’s I/O shield plate and by the way this metal plate that they have on here can be very easily taken off. They also include two 120mm exhaust fans. There are eight ventilated expansion slots, extra ventilation. And at the bottom is where a standard ATX power supply gets installed. There are two thumbscrews on each side panel. And the left side panel is equipped with a release latch which makes it extremely easy to open or close.
This case fit standard ATX and micro ATX from factor motherboards. Since this is a full tower case, there is a fair amount of room to work on the inside, but unfortunately the motherboard tray is not removable. This case has an advanced thermal chamber which prevents the heat from rising from the video cards onto the CPU heat sink. Thus, maximizes cooling. This chamber consists of a number of plastic parts that can be easily removed. One of them even has a storage tray. These parts are a little floozy so be careful when removing or installing.
This case also comes with cable management holes. There is one at the bottom, two more on the motherboard tray and one at the top. This is very convenient because it allows the cables to be tucked away. This not only looks great but it also increases air circulation inside the case. Additionally, there is a unique cable routing management system on the back of the motherboard tray. There are three snap on covers that allow the cables to be routed through.
This system insures that the cables are in place so the right side panel can be easily installed. Also, at the back of the motherboard tray is a place to install a 120mm exhaust fan to cool the CPU. Note though that they didn’t include an access hole on a motherboard tray for the coolers retention plate although you should be able to access it through these slots. Six hard drives can be installed, three in each of these removable hard drive cages. To remove either of these hard drive cages, just release this latch and then pull it out. Place the hard drive in, note the lacking mechanisms for secure of the hard drive into the rail mount. There are two of these on each side of the drive. Finally, slip the hard drive cage back into the case and lock it into place.
Note that the hard drive cages can be repositioned into the front 5.25-inch drive bays using the included hard drive cage brackets. Just install a hard drive bracket on each side of the hard drive cage and this applies also to installing a 5.25-inch drive because here on the side you will need to release the 5.25-inch tooless drive bay mechanism. And in my case over this two, this two install this particular hard drive cage and just slide the hard drive cage into place, position it correctly and then just lock it here on the side. And by the way, the depth on this is not out front off to interfere with the front bezel so for front bezel, it can easily go back on. Also note that this case fits 10.50-inch long consumer level video cards.
There is a removable filter at the bottom under the power supply and also a 120mm fan can be installed here. Another 120mm fan can be installed on an adjustable fan bar. You can cool the CPUs cooler or the video card or video cards. To install a 120mm fan, just use two fan screws and mount the fan onto the fan bar. At the bottom are four retractable feed. This stylish feed can stay retracted or they can be extended for stability. Finally, have a listen to the stock cooling.
This case has a torrent of features and many of them are unique and that is incredibly refreshing to see. The case itself looks fantastic. You can install lots of drives, plenty of room to work and excellent air circulation. Overall, this is a 100% kick ass product. Until the next time, take care.
