Tech Review - VL System M-Play Blast Indicator and Remote Control
Hello again my name is Rodney Reynolds and welcome to another video review, today I will be looking at the VL Sytem M-Play Blast Indicator and Remote Control. What is included is the user’s manual, installation CD, power control cable, thermo sensor, two three-pin fan cables, one four pin power cable, an external USB cable, internal USB cable, two triple A batteries, a remote control, fours screws for mounting the unit in a 5.25 inch drive bay and the M-Play Blast.
This area is the display and its’ capable of displaying 20x2 characters, this USB 1.1 or USB 2 compatible. And it’s available in a silver or black faceplate. On the right side is the remote control receiver; on each side are two screw holes so it can be mounted in a 5.25-inch drive bay. At the back they are a number of connections, here’s the power control cable connection, which gets connected into the motherboard power switch connection. There is also a cable that gets connected to the cases’ power switch button, this allow the computer to be turned ON or OFF using the remote control or the case’s power button.
There are two three-pin fan connections and fan speed is adjusted automatically. According to CPU usage, temperature or user’s option, here’s the thermal sensor connection and the sensor can be attached to any computer component. The USB cable gets connected here and it can be attached from the inner two either computer’s external USB port or the internal USB connector on the motherboard. Finally, here is the power connection, which gets attached to the power supply four pin Molex sleeve.
The remote control that is included is very intuitive, easy to use, comfortable to hold and have a torrent of buttons for launching and controlling just about everything in your computer. There is the basic command layout as well as layouts for Media Center, Wivo, Media Player, WAMP, Media Bay, Thumb Player, Quick Time, and iTunes, Real Player and my favorite CAM Player as well as Check Audio. With the included software, this unit can display all kinds of system and multimedia information.
The initial auto set-up shows a Start message, date and time, CPU Clock, CPU and Memory Resources, Network Monitor, Operating System Version and much more. Also, when you use in Windows Xp Media Center Edition, its shows information on live TV, music, DVD, TV recordings, radio and CDDVD burning, remember the software that controls the indicator and the remote control can be configured to best suit your needs or personal preferences.
For the display, they are options for the basic set-up, Auto User, Media Center, Media Player, Win Amp, PC Sound, Network Monitor, Message Alert, Digital Time, Speed Fan Monitor, and Real Time Clock. CPU Memory, Operating System and Sytem E-mail check and Fan control. For the remote control, they are options for the Basic Set-up, Quick Launcher as well as application commands for iTunes, Media Player, Schedule and Win amp.
If you are in a market for an indictor and remote control combination, I will strongly recommend you check this product out. Because it includes an excellent vacuum for us in display and a great remote control and they work exceptionally well together. This also includes a package called Revo; this is really a Windows Media Center replacement. So if you don’t have the Windows Media Edition, well don’t worry because it has this software. And it is very good, this software package is just displays your movies, your pictures, TV etc. It works really well also with the remote control as well they include CG Builder. And what this program does is allows you to design your own logos for display in the vacuum for us on display.
You can also download pre-done logos if you wish; overall, this is a kick ass product. Until next time, take care.
