Hello again, my name is Rodney Reynolds and welcome to another video review. Today, I will be looking at the iRock 300W Wireless Music Adapter.
This steel unit is very cute it’s very compact and extremely light weight. It has this portable rubber and antennae here. This basically goes plug into your either tape deck, CD player, or MP3 player and it folds once you’re not using it right back into the unit itself like so. It’s very easy to do this and of course once it’s back in it securely fastens and it’s not going anywhere, so that’s a really nice feature to get that thing out of the way.
Now on the front here we have an on/off button. When batteries are installed and this end none, if you come with this unit you have to purchase two triple As to power up this unit, and when it is installed you can go ahead here, click on the front of it and it will glow red in the front.
On the right side the unit here we have the channels their frequencies 88.1, 88.3, 88.5 and 88.
Now, it depends on where you live really which channel is free. You want to use a free channel if you possible can to get know with your parents and once you to do so. You just plug the unit in to like I said a tape deck or an MP3 player or CD player and you’re basically ready to listen to the music.
On the back here as I mentioned it takes to triple A batteries, the compartment is right here and inside of here of course is where the batteries would be place. Let me go ahead and pop a couple in here and I’ll show you actually how that leg wraps on the front, so again on the front here we have the on/off button, and you can see now the unit is on and you can go ahead now and power it on and off.
The next thing to do will be to plug this into either an MP3 player, CD player or tape deck whatever you really want to listen to wirelessly on your particular stereo system. You go ahead here and of course and plug this directly into your unit itself. I’m using the iRock MP3 player in my case.
Let me now go ahead and set this up and have a listen to it both in my vehicle as well as on my home audio system. Whether you’re using this on your home audio system or your car it doesn’t matter. As an example here I am using my home system. This is basically the iRock MP3 player and of course, the wireless here.
You basically have to just press this on as you can hear there’s a noise on the FM channel right now tuning in and basically power it up, and as you can hear it’s fine. The quality on this of course is not going to be as good as if it was directly plug in, but as you can see here I’ve selected tuner and of course I can go ahead here just tune it in and in my case 88.5 I set it here on the side to 88.5, and you can go ahead and listen to your tunes and of course you can do this wirelessly. You can take this. You don’t have to have this hanging off in your system like so. If you just have it in your pocket and have it somewhere next to you or close to the system approximately 10 to 15 feet away from the unit itself.
And of course, in your vehicle it would be the same way as connecting it to your home or to any kind of radio really that has an FM channel. Now, the differences are very dramatic obviously because this is a very inexpensive unit. It basically gives you the ability to hook up wirelessly to almost any kind of stereo in the market whether you have a cheap, old car stereo or your home unit as well or it’s expensive it doesn’t matter. It gives you the mobility.
Now, you go ahead here now and select the FM, tune it into the particular channel. In my case 88.5 and then go ahead and adjust it by like so. The sound of this is not the greatest it’s okay. It’s certainly again gives you that wireless ability the mobility part of it as you can see here this is the unit itself, and the farther I’d take away from the unit of course, the worst of reception it gets.
Now, just compare this to a CD that I have on the system right now. At the same level our volume sort of quite a different so I’ll switch back now, so certainly a big different standard and quality of sound.
As I illustrated here it is not the highest quality in sound unfortunately, but that is to be expected. You’ve got two things here you want to keep in mind. You’ve got an FM channel which to begin with quite frankly is not that great in the best of times, and you have a wireless.
This unit is not meant to replace your wired components. It meant to be mobile. It’s meant for you to be able to take your MP3 player plug it into this thing, and basically tune in to whatever stereo system you want too. Overall, this product does have good value.
