Hello, again I'm Rodney Reynolds from 3DGameMan.com. This next question is how you safely clean an LCD?
Remember LCD’s do not have glass like plasma and CR keys so you have to be very careful how much pressure you are applying to the screen and also what cloth you're using otherwise you could damage and/or scratch the screen and you don’t to do that. So, how do you safely clean an LCD?
Well, the first thing you could do is turn off the monitor and then get a dust and cloth or a micro fiber cloth and take most of the dust and particles off the screen. When you're doing this do it with very, very lightly. The next step is to get an LCD cleaning kit which includes the solution and the cloths. Now the other option is if you have rid of the polishing cloth around you can use that. Also mix your own solution which would be 50% distilled water and 50% isopropyl alcohol. That should do the trick.
But it’s best I think to go ahead and get an LCD cleaning kit because they have the solution premixed and the spray bottle and the cloths all in one kit and usually these kits only run between $20.00 to $30.00 and it’s a good investment if you have a number of screens for example, maybe even your LCD TV, laptops whatever else you have in the house.
The next thing to remember is when you're doing this, don’t spray onto the screen directly, because it will drip down behind the LCD and it cause all kinds of damage. Don’t do that. Spray this solution that they have in the bottle onto the polishing cloth and then just go over the screen very, very lightly and get most of the smudges and any other stuff left on the screen and take it off.
Remember to do this very, very lightly. You don’t want to have too much pressure when you're doing that. Now, if you have for example food or ink or some other material like that on the screen, just go over those spots repeatedly and they should come off. Hope this answers your question and keep your questions coming.
