Hello again I’m Rodney Reynolds from 3dgameman.com. This next question is, what are the different types of LCD panels?
Well there are 3 main types, TN or Twisted Nematic, VA or Vertical Alignment, and IPS or in plane switching, which one is best for you? Well it really depends on your application.
If you’re a gamer, you really want some good response times and you’re not concerned with viewing angles. Then probably go with the cheaper TN displays.
If you want something in the middle, with the good response times, and good colour gamut. Probably go with a VA display.
Now if you want something high end, then probably the best that’s currently on the market. Go with an IPS panel, but they are very expensive sometimes two, if not three or four times as expensive as TN panels.
So it depends on what you’re doing. If you’re a gamer, again and not concerned with viewing angles probably go with a TN display. If you’re a photographer somebody who really wants the best color gamut as well as a gamer, and you really want it all. Go with the top of the line IPS Panel, and by the way there are a lot of new IPS panels coming out.
So keep an eye for that. HP has some new ones, also Dell, and a few other companies, and by the way if you wanted to do some research on LCD panels, I recommend that you go to tftcentral.co.uk. Those guys have some fantastic written reviews on LCD’s and a lot of other information on LCD’s so you can really do a lot of research and find out, which one is best for you.
I hope this answers your question, and keep your questions coming.
