Teeth Whitening Treatments

Jess: Hi, my name is Jess and I'm from Boston, I was wondering if whitening treatments are bad for your teeth.

Candice Zemnick: Jess, whitening treatments are not that for your teeth as long as you follow your dentist recommendation. There are two different types, they are the at home bleaching we bring I mean customize straight home and fill that with bleacher and you have the one where you actually get the bleach here in the office both of them contain, which is a little acetic so they could demineralize the teeth momentarily it may lessen the hardness of the teeth so what your dentist will do is make sure that they give you some sort of topical agent afterwards or rinse normally with fluoride and at the same time your normal saliva will actually remineralize those areas of the teeth that are deficient.
