Telephoto Photography Techniques with Don Gale
Male: The snitch will happen. What we’re driving around town and decided we wanted to get some elevation, to be able to get up and shoot over some of pigs. So we’re taking the Echtower Bahn right here at the Olympic Stadium from 1936 Olympics. And once we got up here a little bit higher, we should be able to get some excellent shot. The open air lifts are perfect, you can actually bring your tripod, you can't see but I’ve got a tripod there, we got two tripods, that’s all the gear. So when get to the top, they got a place to eat. And you can either have an option of walking back down or taking, taking the lift back, you know, so. This will be some great vantage points to get some angles we couldn’t get from the city. And I’ll show you what we get in just a minute. We’ve made it to the top, and it’s a perfectly clear day. Right behind me is a great little path that goes up to the little house. You can get some snack and stuffs to drink. And probably some great vantage points to shoot down over the valley, so let’s go check this place out. Well we found some great subject matter right off the bat on the hill right behind us here is some guys paragliding and they’re catching the drafts up and then right back down again, so I’ve got my 200 to 500 zoom here on the tripod with the polarizer, cable release and mirror lock up, and I’m able to get absolutely just pack shot, pack sharp of these guys as they kinda cruise around up there, so. They’re moving fast, but they’re sort of far away and they’re such a small part of our frame that even a 150, 150th to 200th of a second will keep everything good and sharp. So this is gonna be excellent with a polarizer at this high elevation, the sky is just an intense blue. And these guys all have, they all got really vibrant colored paragliders. So this is, this is excellent shooting too.
