There we go. Now we got a fish.
Just look at that elastic working. I am not going to pull this fish too hard, we will just keep even and gentle pressure on the fish. Keep the elastic straight stick. A reasonable pressure is experience that you learn about the pressure you need to keep on this fish. But, we just take it gentle, but enjoy the fight because it is great fun, it really is and really excitement when you get a fish especially on the whip that is actually trice to do than the big run and you will be hanging on to the end of it believe me, it is quite an experience.
Okay.
Just gradually let the fish tire, work it gently to the surface, what I am aiming to do is to get this fish up to the surface, tire at and just literally get it ready for the land in there, it is not ready yet, it is still pulling too hard.
A little bit side strain—the fish is trying to go to the left so I will pull it back to my right. I have seen a lot of fish lost by, especially beginners, just pulling too hard, trying to rush, trying to rush the fish. And, very often the hook just slips there. If that hook is not quite right, then the hook is going to come out. So we are getting close now, so I will get my landing net ready.
Land it in the water and there we are. This is how we want it. The fish to surface once it is inside you can gently slide the fish straight under the net and in. It is really that easy.
There we go. Now, this is quite a nice fish. I am going to take it to the unhooking mouth for this one. And then, we can have a look at it.
I will wet my hands first, so you always wet your hands when you are handling fish. Next, we are going to use a disgorger here because it is taking it down, just a little bit deep. So, usually in disgorger, the secret is to keep the line tight. Just use a small finger and just tension the line slide the disgorger onto the line and literally just slide until you reach the hook and the hook just pops-up like that. It is really easy.
And there, look at that, a beautiful little carp,
