Bris or Brit Milah, Bris is the Ashkenazic way Brit is the artistic way means covenant. Milah means circumcision together. Bris or Brit Milah is a term for the circumcision of a basically a Jewish boy on 8th day or for it need to be done later. Somebody is there on the 8th day celebrate Milah. And I have a video on Bris ceremonies.
Simchat Bator baby naming girls used they have their name mention only by the father her during an honor at the Torah after they were born today we have a more elaborate special ceremony ashkanasy in the ceremony had a Friday night event naming party for the girl. And there Shabbat after they were born. But today we do naming ceremony with a liturgy either on Shabbat or at the home and some other day party for the girl’s birth. This is the name of the guy who does the circumcision and trained physician. Often times now it is actually a physician and Jewish physician is trying to do this in special ritual way. But there are also professionals who just do Milah Sandok that is one of the honorary positions at the Brit Milah usually a grandfather or uncle who holds the baby during the circumcision.
Begun a bend as a different life Cycle of that, that occurs after 30 days of the child birth if it is a first born male, first child out of the womb and if the parents are neither a coheno levi you have a redemption ceremony based on the Torah’s and you have to redeem the first born child. It is used—you used a Coheno priest a Jewish priest to do the ceremony and it is kind of interesting ancient ceremony we do. Of course it is important to know that a lot of children did look past 30 days so 30 days is a marker of childhood for they will survive.
