Section three of our course is called Models of Judaism, Denominations and Spiritual Judaism and these are the terms. First of all is Models of Judaism, what is a religious Jew? That is something to learn about and read about the Jew who observes the commandments and practice his Jewish law.
A Zionism is somebody who believes that Jewish people have a right to the homeland in ancient Zion. It supports it, a spiritual Jew.
I have a video about spiritual Judaism. Intellectual Jew would be somebody who has main focused on studying Judaism. The social action Jew is somebody whose main focus is on helping the world become a better place.
The modern Jewish denominations, I have video on Orthodoxy which is the most traditional and observant denominations. Conservative I have a video on, reform I have a video on, second, like Humanism I have a video on with re-constructionism. That was an off shoot originally of the conservative moment but the ideologue behind was Rabbi Morahichei Caplan. He basically suggested we should drop the idea of the chosen people because it is so misunderstood by the non-Jewish world and he did not believe in any kind of super natural God but he thought that we had to reconstruct Judaism and the Jewish law was actually folk ways in traditions. There sacred objects was said is a little bit about re-constructionism.
Cabala is Jewish Mysticism.
Zohar is the main Jewish mystical text. If you wrote in the Jewish mysticism ten emanations of God’s divinity, the aspects of God that have inter go aspect of Cabala.
