Taanit Esther is the day before Purim and that that is a half fast day in where we express solidarity with Esther who had there faced the tough decision of going to her husband the king in a dangerous move to ask for a renunciation of the Eda against killing the Jews and to tell him that it was actually Haman his right hand man who is the anti-semi.
