Tournament
Tournament structure: When you play in the Texas Holdem Tournament you must know how it works. We will present the most popular on-line format of a Texas Holdem Tournament, but remember to check the rules before signing into any tournament.
Each player enters with a fixed amount of money, $50 for example plus an extra fee for the house, let's say $5. The total Pay-off is $50 multiplied by the number of players who joined the tournament. The division of this sum is predetermined. Let's say 50% to the winner, 30% to the player who takes second place and 20% to third place.
Each player gets $1500 in chips and if there is no rebuy option, when a player loses all of his chips he is out of the tournament. The tournament ends when one player has all the chips. The blind stakes start at a small amount compared with the total chips each player has, let's say $10-20. The stakes rise either after a fixed period of time or after a fixed number of hands have been dealt. The betting structure in tournaments is usually "No Limit".
When the tournament has more than one table as the players go broke the tables are broken up and recombined until one final table remains. You can see that since the rules are not the same, you should make some adjustment to your game strategy which will be explained in the next tutorial, tournament adjustments.
