Thai Fried Rice

Welcome to Thai Foodcast. Today, I’m going to teach you how to make a simple Thai Fried Rice. Fried Rice is very easy and it’s extremely fast. In Thai, we call this dish “Kao Pad”. “Kao” means rice, “Pad” means fry. Rice is the main product of Thailand and we eat a lot of it. In fact our word for meal is “Gin Kao”, which means “eat rice”. Thai people can’t have a meal without rice in it. So let’s get started in making you one.
And these are the ingredients that you’re going to need to make Chicken Fried Rice. Two cups of cooked rice, three tablespoons of oil, one small chicken breast, two eggs, one teaspoon of black soy sauce, two green onions, four cloves of garlic, two tablespoons of soy sauce. First, chop the garlic. Next, chop the green onions. Cut the chicken into quarter-inch slices. Next, beat the egg.
Now, let’s cook the fried rice. But first, turn on the stove to medium heat and then add the oil. Now, when the oil is hot, add the garlic. Now, add the chicken. Now, add rice when the chicken is cooked through. Stir the rice for about one minute and then add the sauce. First, add the soy sauce, then the black soy sauce. I like to wear the black soy sauce because it gives a little bit of color. Then, keep stirring, mix all the rice in the sauce together. Now, it’s time to add the egg and stir it together. Stir until the egg is cooked. The last thing, add the green onion and stir it a couple of times, and then you’re done. Okay. It’s done, now it’s time to eat.
Everyone makes fried rice a little bit differently, so feel free to experiment with the different ingredients that you have in your own fridge. There are even a variety in Thailand called American Fried Rice that we make with catsup, but this is more traditional. We garnish with lime and cucumber.
