Thanksgiving Song to Sign Along With

Hi! everyone, Kim Taylor DiLeva here and in a few weeks it will be Thanksgiving time. So I want to share with you a little song that I like to sing and sign at Thanksgiving time that helps teach the words thanks or thank you, as well as thankful, which would be two hand coming down because you are not thanking, but you're really thankful, so both hands would come down and thanks. And actually remember that thank you is a directional sign. It's not -- it doesn't come all the way down. And so when I say come down, it's doesn't actually come down to your belly, like I see a lot of people sign thank you like this. Thank you is actually directional sign, so it's going to sign towards the person that you're thanking. So if I am thanking you, my hands actually going to come toward you. So it's thank you. So it's the directional sign. So keep that in mind when you sign thank you or thanks. Alright, this song is, Let's be thankful. I think that's a title I have seen for somewhere, online somewhere I think. But it goes to the tune of 'Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star’. And it goes like this. Thank you for the sun so bright. This is the sign for sun, make a circle and show the rays coming down. So it goes-- Thank you for the sun so bright Thank you for the moon at night So this is the moon. Make a crescent shape with your pointer and thumb and come up. Show the moon. You're looking up the moon. So from your eye up to the sky, the moon. So let’s do just that part. Thank you for the sun so bright Thank you for the moon at night Very good. Now it goes -- Thanks for friends that play with me. This is friends. You take your two pointer fingers and link them this way and then link them the other way. This is friends. Thanks for friends that play with me Thank you for my family. This is the letter “F” sign language you're doing with both hands. Point your fingers down on your thumb, the other three fingers are up. This is F. You're going to put them together and then make a circle with them. So you're actually showing your family as a group, family. Very good. And then it goes -- Thanks for all that I can see. So you're thanking for what you can see. This is two fingers come out from your eye, see. Alright. So let's do just that part so far. It goes -- Thank you for the sun so bright Thank you for the moon at night Thanks for friends that play with me Thank you for my family Thanks for all that I can see I am thankful yes indeed. For yes indeed, I just node my head up and down. Yes indeed. Alright. Let's do the whole thing.
