Learn about 2010 Volkswagen Golf
Getting into a car, you can’t know how safe it is, so Euro NCAP in Brussels test crash
safety determining how well the engineers have done their job.
The title Safest Car 2009 goes to Volkswagen with the Golf convincing the safety experts
again this year. And since the Golf passed the test with five stars last year, Euro NCAP
has made the test even stricter.
Now, electronic safety and driver assistance also go into the overall score since they help
to avoid accidents or alleviate the consequences. And again, Volkswagen scores top
grades. On the point such as occupant safety, pedestrian safety and safety assistant, the
Golf is number one.
Volkswagen has made big investments to achieve this result introducing ESP with
countersteering, ABS with a brake assistant, anti-spin control and an electrical
differential lock, all outstanding.
Safety is also a big issue in the interior with ISOFIX fastening points for two child seats
in the back, as well as airbags for the driver and front passenger and the knee airbag on
the driver side. The Golf also comes with head airbags and side airbags front and rear,
which shows that when it comes to safety, VW leaves nothing to chance.
The Golf is not only the winner for six generation with car buyers but also impresses U.S.
safety experts, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety in the States giving the Golf
their Top Safety Pick Award.
Even in a front and side collision with an SUV, the Golf offers optimum safety and can
claim to be the safest car in the market leaving behind 32 other cars tested in Europe.
