Male 1: Thousands of runners from all over the globe took part in New York City
marathon. More than 43 thousand people participated in the 26 points 2-mile race
to all five burrows. The annual event which featured runners some more than 100
countries, including the wheelchair division and a hand cycling athletes with
disabilities division. The marathon bought out many individuals who defied the
odds such as double lung transplant recipients Timothy Sweeney.
Timothy: The crowd cheering constantly really helps to drive you and keep you going. And
you know, refuel for energy and it was just, just amazing.
Male 1: Athletes with some other professional sports participated in the race as well.
Among the most professional snow boarder Keir Dillon who run for a good cause.
Keir: My men it feels great, you know. It’s amazing to do it. I mean cried like 4 times
so the emotion were crazy but we’re out here for good cost and you know, doing a
pretty kid, so it was worth it.
Male: The marathon kicked off in Staten Island and wrapped up in Central Park, where
runners crossed the finished line and each given a medal commemorating their
participation in the event.
