The 4 in the Corner Pool Draw Shot

Hi I am Andy Segal this is the first of four Draw shots in this series. We have a cluster of three balls by the side pocket, the 1-ball is going to go here, the 2 will run down the rail and go in this pocket and the 3 will go cross table into this corner pocket. The way you set this shot up is you have the 1-ball about three quarters of an inch from the cut of the pocket, the 2-ball is frozen to the one, straight across the table and the three ball frozen to the two and these are lined up for this point right here. We also have the four ball down by this pocket and the cue ball right between the two and the four. When you shoot the cue ball, you are going to hit the 2-ball s dead center right here. These three balls are going to split apart. The cue ball with backspin is going to come straight back and make the 4-ball on the corner of the pocket. Now when you shoot this shot, if the 2-ball misses on this side, what you have to do is, you have to bring the 2-ball to the right, what you would need to do is you need to twist the balls this way so the tangent line pushes the 2 more to the right or you can push it more that way so it pushes it more to the left. That is how you adjust on the 2. The adjusting on the 3 is even easier. If the 3-ball misses on the left side of the pocket, you have to move it right, so you simply will move it to the right, the next try. If the 3 misses the pocket on the right side, you just move it to the left. Now, if the cue ball misses the 4-ball that is definitely the easiest ball to miss, what happens is, if you do not hit the two ball straight on, if you hit it slightly off to the right what is going to happen is, it s going to hit the 2-ball and it s going to not come straight back, it is going to come back at an angle like this and then bounce out. If that happens, you aimed too much to the right, you need to adjust your aim slightly to the left. On the other hand if you hit the 2-ball too far to the left, instead of coming straight back it will bounce out this way and you need to adjust your aim more to the right. If you hit it dead straight, it should come right back. That is the way the shot looks. Now do not go away because coming up next is the Banana shot.
