It is time for the animation chefs, the place where our home made animation is sliced, diced and served up for all the world to see. Now here is our half baked master chef straight from our animating oven.
Hello again my friend, today we are going to cook up our first animation. This is this is much easier than you may think. Bring out your computer and attach your camera to a tripod, attach the video wire of your camera and your computer and voila, you are ready to go. But you may be asking yourself what kind of camera, what kind of computer, what kind of cable, what kind of animation software.
Sign up for the animation chef’s academy and we will send you all the juicy details. But now let us bake up our first animation from a classic recipe, the bouncing ball. The ingredients are small paper circles and ovals. Other ingredients include light and background piece of paper. Now, watch the camera lens as we dish up the bouncing ball.
We cooked up our first animation of magic. This classic recipe teaches us almost everything we need to know about animations. So without further ado, I will reveal to you the secret behind the bouncing ball. How you space out the bouncing ball is the secret. At the top of the bounce the spaces are closer together where the ball moves slowly.
Then to make it look fast we space it up wide. And notice the squishiness of the ball at the bouncing part. Here we are swapping out the round ball with the two oval balls. Remember we are using a circle and two ovals. This allows us to squash and stretch the ball based on where it is in the bounce. Now you just need to take the pictures.
Remember to follow the spacing we have suggested in our secret recipe and the bouncing ball will come to life. And remember to swap out the round ball for a squishy ball at the bottom so it looks like it squashes. Then when you play it back, voila, but be careful, if your frame rate is too slow, it does not look like a bouncing ball. If your frame rate is set too high you get this. That is a bit much. Qui.
What is frame rate you ask? That is for the next episode. Before we go let us take one more look at our masterpiece, it is beautiful. Until next time, Bon Animate!
