Welcome to watchmojo.com, I am your host Ashley and today we get an insight look at the latest addition to the 1 series lineup the Cabriolet and the Coupe. It is set as by their power that the car has provide very high fuel efficiency; can you explain that to us?
Alain Laforest: We have BMW efficient dynamic system, which in fact use light weight steel also aluminum and magnesium into our engine and in our car which gives us very efficient product.
Ashley: So opposed to the 128, the 135 is provided with the twin turbo charged engine, can you explain that to us?
Alain Laforest: The 128 comes with a Valvetronic engine, 135 has a Turbo charged engine which provide a lot more power. In fact the 135 has 300 horsepower with 300 pound of torque where the 128 has 240 horsepower with 200 pound of torque.
Ashley: And you can tell us a little bit about the standard wheels that come with the 1 series?
Alain Laforest: The wheels are the 17 inch wheel and that one in the center wheel is 128 and in 135, when you have the M Package you have 18 inch wheel.
Ashley: And what is the brake force display?
Alain Laforest: Brake Force display it is a light under dash, if you break with a lot of power and you push really hard the brake the light is going to be brighter is going to show that your breaking system works and works harder.
Ashley: And so can you tell us the difference between the Coupe and the Convertible?
Alain Laforest: The Convertible is an open air concept with a soft top and the Coupe is the same design but with a hard top basically.
Ashley: And can you tell us a little bit about how the convertible top closes?
Alain Laforest: The neat thing about the open air concept is that you can open the top even if you are driving in the city. So between 20 kilometers and 40 kilometers it is easy to open the top without having to stop, so it is a really neat concept and top closes in a very few seconds.
Ashley: Can you tell us about the interior and exterior colors?
Alain Laforest: We have about ten different non-metallic colors and also three metallic colors with five different interiors that you can switch and you can match the exterior color. You could have also wood trim inside.
Ashley: And you can tell us a little bit about the Streptonic mode?
Alain Laforest: On the wheel you have the paddles that gives you access to the manual shifting of the gears by touching the paddle which are right on the wheel.
Ashley: Can tell us why BMW wanted to go smaller with the 1 series and produce a more affordable car?
Alain Laforest: BMW came with this concept in memory of the BMW 2002 which was a real sporty car. It is also a new niche for us, a new segment for the brand and that's a very, very dynamic vehicle and this is what BMW is all about.
