Male: I now hear Tequila referred to in the same phrasing as “Single Malt Scotch”.
Daniel: Yes.
Male: It has flavor profiles that there in the super premium brands.
Daniel: And I think what you’re saying is a great, great comparison I think tequila is actually taking that spot it was not like that before it is now. One thing we’re very proud in 2007 we won an award with this tequila which is our select barrel in the San Francisco World Spirit Competition which is the biggest competition in the world. Over 700 brands coming from 52 countries, and they have basically four categories one of this categories is wide spirits. And this category includes vodka, rum, gin and tequila basically. So not only we won a double gold medal for the select barrel but we won the award of best of show for the quality in the tequila in this category. So this puts tequila at the same level or on top of the best vodkas in the world, best gins in the world, best rums in the world.
Male: That’s a huge achievement.
Daniel: It is, we were very proud and we are very proud of the product we make. In this specific competition not only Milagro won we think Mexico won as a country because this is our national spirit. And the recognition of the spirit community in the world to say, “The best was a tequila this year”, means a lot to Mexico and of course it means a lot for Milagro because we were able to get this award.
Male: Cute. This is an absolutely incredible bottle.
Daniel: Thank you. Well we put the same passion in the product that we make the tequila as in the glass when we packed it. All of our bottles are hand made, hand blown glass made in Mexico by Mexican artisans.
Male: Okay.
Daniel: So each of these bottles is actually as cultured in its own. There are not two bottles that are the same. Into each bottle goes of work of a Mexican artisan that will make this bottle and put his passion into it. And inside this bottle I don’t know if you can get this, but inside this bottle there is a crystal agave plant inside hand blown crystal agave, and all these bottles are coming in from Mexico, an were done by Mexican glass artisans.
Male: Which is fantastic.
Daniel: Thank you.
Male: So now I understand that that these two are available. This is what you launching in Canada?
Daniel: Yes.
Male: But could you walk this through your entire life.
Daniel: Yes, of course.
Male: And probably with the hope that eventually this comes together.
Daniel: I am sure it will, eventually we’ll have all the line here in Canada as well. I’ll walk you to this. We have the silver.
Male: Okay.
Daniel: Silver tequila is on age tequila. It’s the end results of the cooking of the agave, fermentation, distillation of the product. We used a triple distillation process that is very unique to our brand.
Male: Okay.
Daniel: And it provides a very smooth, crisp cling taste on the product. For the viewers, anytime you’re drinking tequila any brand Milagro or any other brand, try to start tasting their silver first. If the company makes a good silver they have a very good chance of making Reposado or Anejo.
Male: Okay.
Daniel: If the silver is not good no matter how you aged, how much you aged, what kind of barrels you used if your silver is not good it’s not going to work.
Male: The rest is going to be off this line.
Daniel: Our silver has notes. It’s very smooth, very clean and it goes down very easy, and it’s great for mixing, for making margaritas and also on the rocks.
Male: Okay.
Daniel: People are surprised sometimes. One thing I could tell the viewers is take an old fashion glass, put some cubes of ice, pour some silver and just drink it on the rocks, and you will see how different this tequila is from what you were used to.
Male: Well, everybody’s picture in their minds is the proud boy drinking tequila and shots at the end of the night.
Daniel: This would be an incredible good surprise.
Male: Good surprise, okay.
Daniel: From the silver we moved into Reposado. Reposado means “rested”.
