Let us take a look at some prevent defense. Basically at the end of the half or the end of the game, when you do not want to give up any big plays and you want to keep everything in front of you, some teams may opt to rush just three rushers. Two edge rushers which would be the end, the nose which could possibly rush either A gap and then we have four linebackers dropping playing at least 10 yards off the ball and then four cross DBs playing prevent coverage 15 to 17 yards off the ball. This is a prevent defense, three rushers, four underneath linebackers, and four secondary players playing minimum 15 yards off the ball.
