Raena Morgan: If there is a choice between eating coconut oil or taking a soft gel, which one would have more benefits?
Dr. Bruce Fife: Well, the actual benefit of the oil would be the same. Now, some people just don't like coconut flavor, or they just can't stand eating a spoonful of coconut oil or they don't want to use it in their cooking, and so the soft gels come in handy for them.
Another advantage of the soft gels is that they're very portable. You can put them in your purse or your pocket, and take it to work to eat during the day, or you can take it on trips when you go out of town.
When you take a bottle of oil, there is always that possibility that it might leak. And I've had that experience. Taking a bottle of liquid oil, put it in your suitcase and having it leak out, and you don't want that. So the soft gels are helpful in that case.
The drawback with a soft gels is they're a smaller quantities, so you need to take a lot, and they're usually more expensive.
Raena Morgan: So, you need to take more to get the benefits.
Dr. Bruce Fife: Right.
Raena Morgan: But they're handier to carry around, than a bottle or a jar of coconut oil
Dr. Bruce Fife: Right. I see it as an advantages when you're wanting to go somewhere, and you want to take some oil with you, the soft gels are handy in that manner.
Raena Morgan: Okay, thanks.
