Hi, I am Steve Terrano, welcome to this edition of body performance. Let me give you two suggestions about eating. Number one, when you eat, do not eat when you are on the run. When you do this, you have a tendency to overeat and you have a tendency to not pay attention to what you are eating and you have a tendency to gobble down your food and then half an hour later, you do not really remember that you ate.
Number two, when you eat, eat slowly, it takes about 15 minutes for your brain and stomach to become in sync so it takes about 15 minutes before you realize you are full. If you gobble down your food, you will shoot right past your full point, overeating causing additional calories to be consumed. Also, one other thing about eating, when you put your food on your plate, put a reasonable amount of food on your plate and eat it slowly.
People have a tendency to load their plate up with food and then gobble their dinner down in an effort to get it done, to get it out of the way so they can go give the kids a bath and put them to bed. This is the wrong mindset. When you sit down to eat, enjoy your dinner. Savor each bite, enjoy the meal. This will make eating much easier, much slower, much healthier and you would not consume as many calories. I will see you next time. Love your body.
