Welcome to this episode of Body Performance. I am Steve Turano. It is amazing when people come up to me and they tell me how working out is a sacrifice. I just do not understand it. I said to myself how can working out be a sacrifice? It does so many things. It decreases storage of body fats. It increases utilization of body fat. It helps prevent osteoporosis. It lowers blood pressure and decreases your resting heart rate.
It alleviates depression and anxiety and it lowers cholesterol and raises your good cholesterol. It increases muscular strength and helps with coordination and proper association and on and on and on. Working out is great for your body. It does nothing but improve your body. On the other hand, diet is a sacrifice. I could not possibly imagine going through life having to worry about eating the foods I enjoy and then constantly worry about gaining weight. That itself is a sacrifice.
It is a horrible thought and as I always said, dieting is passive. You do not eat and you sit around and wait for something to happen. Whereas working out is aggressive. It is proactive. You may eat something but then you are going to go out and work it off and while you are working it off you are also improving the performance of your body. I will see your next time. Love your body.
