Ashley: Bentley has always been the standard of luxury. Hi! Welcome to watchmojo.com. I am your host Ashley and today we're giving you an inside look at the Continental GT. First can you tell us about the Continental GT is worthy of the GT name.
Cheryl Blas: It's the perfect combination of a high performance sports car, but it gives all of the drive ability of a car that you would use everyday. So for example the all wheel drive technology, the fact that -- seats for people comfortably and it actually gives you room to have luggage in the back.
Ashley: Can you tell us about the Continental GT power?
Cheryl Blas: It is a 552 horse power and 4789 foot-pounds of torque and it will take you from 0 to 60 in 4.7 seconds, top speed of 198 miles/hour.
Ashley: Can you tell us about the W-formation engine?
Cheryl Blas: The W-formation engine basically uses 2-cylinder V6 engines put together and what it does is it actually allows the engine to be much more compact, much smaller. It's actually the smallest 12-cylinder engine in production right now.
Ashley: Can you tell us about the continental GT exterior wheels?
Cheryl Blas: Including the standard wheels, there are 9 different wheel options for the Continental range, so anything from you know 19 inch chromed wheels to a 20 inch 2-piece wheel, it just depends.
Ashley: Can you tell us the combination of exterior and interior colors?
Cheryl Blas: There are basically and 16 exterior colors and 17 interior colors available, but the Continental range, you have the ability to select two colors for the interior, so you have a main height and a secondary height.
Ashley: Can you tell us a little bit about the process of trimming the interior of a Continental GT?
Cheryl Blas: One of Bentley's Core mark values is craftsmanship and you know for example it takes 5 hours just to trim the steering wheel on a Continental series vehicle and it's hand stitched with double needles by hand, so their attention to detail is very elaborate.
Ashley: And how much is they are going to cost?
Cheryl Blas: It's about $200,2000, with different options and different wheels and different wood options and you can probably add about another $10000.
Ashley: The continental GT speed edition is new for 2008; can you tell us what has been upgraded?
Cheryl Blas: It gets the horse power upgrade to 600 horse power increased torque to 553 foot pounds of torque; it goes from 0 to 60 in 4.3 seconds and a top speed of 203 miles per hour.
Ashley: With all these upgrades how much is continental GT speed going to cost?
Cheryl Blas: There is difference between the GT and the GT speed its about $26,000, but in edition to the engine upgrades, there are a lots of other features in the GT speed as well with the drilled alloy paddles become standard feature the sporting gear liver becomes a standard feature, so for that $26000 you're getting engine upgrades, but you're getting a lot of other features as well.
