All right, if got the DVD video already, that is great. You already learn the peek steal. If not, that is fine. I am going to teach you exactly how this sequence works. It is a little breakdown here of everything that is happening.
You are going to need nine of hearts, six of hearts and I will use a completely different card. In this case, the ace of spades and this is the setup.
You get the nine on the bottom, six of ace on top. The first thing that you want to do is force the top card, which is the six. If you are going to force that, you can do that by quick cutting the six to the middle, and then either doing a riffle force, having them stop and then pick up on the brake, actually keeping a brake above the six. Or, you can classic force the six by having to touch the back of any card, in this case, the six.
Now your setup still remains. You got the ace under the six and the nine on the bottom. So you take the six, put it on top, do a few false cut—it does not matter which one you will use.
Now you are going to go unto peek steal, in this case, clipping the card under the deck. I am moving that bottom card and to clip. It is the Ed Marlow idea of side-stealing a card using a pinky and third finger. The deck is out here, you are going to want to pivot the deck with the finger as you bring the deck this way.
Now you can steal the six off and you are going to show a nine, tilt the deck down and the card is just going to be placed on top. In fast motion, it looks like that. You are just turning the pack around while depositing the palm card unto the face. It looks like this. Here, good point. Put it on there and give the deck a twist. That gives the illusion like you are taking the nine of hearts. It looks like a nine this way but if you turn it around, it looks like a six.
Now, you do that same steal as you come down with the pack this way, stealing that ace of spades, drop the deck down, and in this position, you can really relax and keep your hands relaxed, like this. All you are going to do is come to ward the deck and you guys have the perfect angle, looking at this pack right now so anyone on this side is not going to see the effect. It is not going to look that great to them because they are going to see the card. But at that angle of the front, it actually looks like you are just changing the card as you pitch the corners.
So, you are going to deposit that card on top, the thumbs comes on this side, this way, and you square up the corner. Because you have enough cover with the hand, you have a nice angle with that ace. It looks like the card changes as you can.
And that is a little variation, a little secret to tricks using the peek steal, which I am sure you will enjoy. Thanks for purchasing the DVD. Let us have fun and we will see you next time.
