Hi! I am here to talk about cotton wood trees and the phrase—the cotton wood is flying. Cotton woods are indigenous to North America, Europe and Asia. They are popular trees and the way their seeds travel is in almost cocoon-like or cotton-like binding and you will see it fly through the air long, long distances. The wind will blow the trees obviously and the seeds will travel miles and thus, the phrase the cotton wood is flying. It almost can look like snow at times. And that is where that phrase comes from, the cottonwood is flying.
