The Early years of Jazz

Here is a concise list of the most important and influential jazz recordings in history starting from the very beginning leading up to today I’ll begin by listing some of the essential recordings from the first early era of jazz. Number one, Maple Leaf Rag by Scott Joplin, this is a piano role from 1916, and on this piano role, you would find the music for the song and it is in rag time, and rag time was a specifically a plane piano best characterized by .Scott Joplin’s playing, and this is what influenced lee Armstrong to begin playing swing notes and that as we’ve already earned is the foundation of all jazz. Number two, Saint Louis Blues by Lee Armstrong and Bessie Smith in 1925. Number tree, In a Mist by Bix Beiderbecke in 1927. Number four, Honeysuckle Rose by Coleman Hawkins with Fletcher Henderson and his orchestra in 1932. Number five, Lester Leaps In by Lester Prez Young in 1939. and number six, Coco by Ko-Ko by Duke Ellington and his Orchestra in 1940. His last couple of recordings really helped pave the way for the more upbeat outrageous crazy stylings of the bebop era that followed in the 1940’s.
