The Fog Cutter Cocktail – where with all the booze goes in to this one, I think it’s more like the fog maker cocktail.
Aloha and welcome to the Cocktail Spirit from Small Screen Network, I’m your host Robert Hess. When you think about drinking and often drinking specifically the exotic cocktails because they often pack the punch, you think about thing just kind of fuddling up a bit and you more simply just cut right through that. Well today we’re going to focus on the fog cutter. Now I’m really not sure what that actually does cut through that fog or not but there’s the name. You make fog cutter by starting out with two ounces of lime juice, I’ve already started pre-squeezing some of that just so that we won’t have to bear through all of that work again. This should be just about two ounces, let see, yeah it’s two ounces. So two ounces of lime juice, one ounce of orange juice, and ½ ounce of orgeat syrup. It’s got to be easy to remember you got two ounces, ½ of that one ounce, half of that half ounce.
Now to this we add two ounces of light rum, one ounce of brandy, and ½ ounce of gin. Notice again we got that same two, one, ½ ratio. Also notice we’re using three bay spirits, this is something that’s rather unusual for drinks. Many of the exotic drinks would take and combine multiple rums in to one drink as well as they’re rough and also combine a couple different spirits and this one’s got three of them. Now add our ice, shake it up; add some ice to our glass, strain this in. Now to the very top of this, we add ½ ounce float of cherry. I’m pouring that across one of the ice cubes that are floating on the top of the drink, they help float that down. We’re going to garnish this with pineapple and cherry and serve with straws. And there we have the Fog Cutter Cocktail.
