Hello, I’m Steven Phillips host of Great Cocktails.
Ever been in a glassware quandary not sure what glasses you need and what goes with what drink. Well let me see if I can clear some of that up for you. Here are four essential glasses you’ll want in your home bar.
The rocks glass, a manly glass. This is use for serving straight spirits over ice or on the rocks. It’s also use for many of your simple ice cocktails like a Gin and Tonic, a bourbon and ginger ale, or Screwdriver.
This tall one is great for serving ice drinks like—well you guessed it on Vodka Collins but it’s also used for the Mojito, a Tequila Sunrise and a Bloody Mary.
The champagne flute, slick and sexy. This glass was made for bubbles, it funnels them up to the surface in a long and gorgeous line. But try this one for size anything of frothing or frothy looks great in the champagne flute. Like a Piece Feline.
Finally the most popular glass of the bar the cocktail glass or the martini glass it knows no boundaries anything that could be served up or without ice can go in here. The sky is the limit but just remember the reason this glass has a stem is the warm from your hand doesn’t heat up the drink.
With these four glasses you’ll have just what you need to serve up almost any kind of cocktail, bottoms up.
